  1. Happy Happy! Certainly looks like a birthday party to remember.

  2. Oh fun, what a rad location for a birthday party! I've never been to Joshua Tree but it looks really amazing. Wonderful photos. The kids look like they're having a blast all crammed into that lil' teepee!

Have you heard about the 70 California State Parks that were just slated for closure because of the budget crisis?

Your quote made me think of it. Ugh, so heartbreaking. There are a bunch of really wonderful ones up in our area on the list :(

  3. Gosh how amazing is this location - wow would love to see more of America one day - all the awesome places. Love the dinosaur slippers and the fact there is a trail called skull rock - wicked ;O)
    A xx

  4. what an inspiring trip! Everyone looks so happy. looks like a great time.

  5. Looks like you had a blast! Great pictures. Miss you all!

  6. Wow, fantastic family getaway. So rugged and beautiful. We want to visit America one day...for several months just to take in scenery like this. Can only dream for now :) Love all these photos and the story they tell - the family photos are adorable (you and the hubby shot is gorgeous too). Happy days :)

  7. Hello! I'm new to your blog and can I just say that it is absolutely stunning. Your trip sounds incredible...I can't wait to see more.

  8. I haven't been out to Joshua tree in some time (like when Elsa was a baby!!!). Looks magical as ever. I love that you guys brought that teepee out :D

Thanks for the website recommendations, I HAD to stop looking after stalking the poor fellas and looking at e.v.e.r.y. thing on their site... I was on page 20 of desire to inspire. I've found out why my house looks so barren! I really do dig the minimal and clutter free look. Generally white on white with a light to medium colored wood that's natural looking. A picture or two and just plain simple! I've started compiling internet photos into a folder on my desktop called "home inspirational photos" I'll keep collecting them along the way and show you! :D

I've also been freshly inspired to pull out my really!!! nice camera, gifted to me by my parents. I've just gotta learn how to use it- it's a little more in depth than point and shoot! I wanna hang some of my own art on the walls (and take better Etsy shots!) :D Thanks!!!!

  9. So enjoyed your visions and inspirations. Thanks for sharing...

  10. Wow, these Diana cams make the prettiest photos! I've been planning to get one myself for some time now because I love the effects it creates with the colours.
Looks like you had a wonderful time at the park! I love the little one with the batman shirt! :D But all the kids look so cute, especially this photo where they're in the tipi!

  11. joshua tree is a radical place. i feel so lucky to have traveled all over this country and visited so many of our beautiful wild and rugged places. even better for you with those three little cowboys! everything is triple the adventure!

your shots are so incredible; you seem to have quite an eye.

and yes, missa, i thought of the 70 parks closing too. wtf??!! can't we fight that a little better? i just don't see how it can be possible. just like the school libraries. there have GOT to be other wasted monies to be cut. let's save our books and nature please!

  12. Oh lala these photos warm my heart. They are absolutely magazine-worthy. That soft buttery light is just perfect. Love the kids tee pee too. i want one!
