The Stuff She Saw

On the other side of California, Myra, one of my favorite bloggers (whom I had the pleasure of growing up alongside) recently shared her feelings on Fall.

I thought it was quite endearing.

" Though we finally had our one-week summer, it’s been feeling a lot like fall these days. Crunchy leaves on the ground, the sun dipping faster, and a cool, yet soothing wave in the air—it all just instantly takes me to those elementary back-to-school days and the first couple of months of getting used to walking home from the bus stop again. New clothes, new haircuts, some kids a little taller or wider, changed somehow from a season of playing in the sun. These days in San Francisco, though the sun doesn’t shine much, if any, during those supposed summer months, the air of change always comes on time. It brings with it a sense of renewal, reflection, a chill meant to bring people together, for cozying up, sitting together for conversation over bowls of steaming soup. I’m ready for all those layers again, for scarves and bulky coats, for hats and rain. Yes, the rain.

It might just be my favorite season after all. "
