Waiting on a Storm

So we spent all week waiting on this storm. We love the rain, but this winter it's been a rather scarce sight. Just when we'd lost hope, stopped monitoring the weather predictions and sky colors, these big gray clouds rolled in and the rain started, so we can finally make use of the piles of firewood gathered, the lentil soup ingredients, fresh drawing pads and craft notes we've been counting on for days.

Let it rain.
And please, let it stay awhile...

  1. oooh the way you describe it...the feeling when the rain finally comes and the way you get to be cozy...perfect. we've had rain up here for almost two weeks solid now. GREENERY ABOUNDS, hooray! supposedly there are thunderstorms coming later today, and snow tonight, woo hoo! finally getting some weather!

  2. Sounds like the best way to spend a cozy time at home while storm and rain are raging outside. And of course, as usual, I love the photos of your little cuties :)

  3. It stormed here today too... and we had lentil soup today too... but no guitar playing, we were all about the piano! Does your oldest play guitar already? I am so excited to get my guys started on music, but I'm not sure they have the patience yet.

  4. Lauren, how funny we shared thunderstorms & Lentil soup!

As for the music - no, Arlo isn't playing yet (seriously, anyway) and even though his dad is very anxious to get him hooked on the instrument, he really wants him to learn piano first. We're thinking summer, after his baseball ends. So, I suppose we'll be sharing that journey as well :)
