Behind the Scenes // Teepee Shoot

Once again we had the pleasure of working with Kristin yesterday to shoot new images for House Inhabit. It was so much fun I kept forgetting we had an actual goal at hand, to shoot the teepees themselves, and not just fawn over how adorable this little crew we gathered looked running amuck in the makeshift prairie we set up in the hills behind our home. With Brianne Buskey along for set detailing it came together incredibly. To keep the kids entertained we surprised them with face painting at the end. Big hit.  So looking forward to seeing the finished product and sharing them with you once Kristin is all through with editing.

Scenes From a Weekend

Camping with friends.

Long boards, coolers of beer, jiffy popcorn as mid night snacks, sandcastles, new beach friends, campfires, RV shaded naps, stacks of magazines and turkey sandwiches on sour dough.

A nice little break from our typically hectic weekends devoted (lately) to trying to catch up on shop orders and house chores. The boys had a blast.

Can't wait to do it again.

First of Summer

For years now this gal and this gal have talked about getting together for a proper celebration to welcome the start of summer, and this year, last minute, we finally did. In honor of summer solstice we set up shop in our backyard, making flower wreaths (which turned out rather beautifully for us first timers I must say) we took a dip in the pool down the street, made corn and black beans tacos, drank beer and listened to a variety of what we figured to be our favorite "summer songs." It was easy, low-key, just like we had hoped it would be.

It just so happened this group of girls make for an ideal vision of classic summer nymphs. 

Don't they look ready for a Shakespearian production of some sort?

And lastly, it was Ford who kept us entertained during dinner break with a little wind action and his mean guitar impressions. What a kid. 

Happy first of summer. May it be the very best yet.
