In a way, most of the blogs I read are "mommy"-blogs, because most of the bloggers I love are moms. That's an interesting thing actually, the definition…
Anywhoo, I'm stoked to hear all about it. xoMillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02078509975778101344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8159818817339386715.post-50021503801642010162014-02-24T21:46:08.816-08:002014-02-24T21:46:08.816-08:00You always have the best editorial references, M! ...You always have the best editorial references, M! I really enjoyed reading that article just now and agree with so much of what she's getting at. I feel like my biggest goal in this new venture is finding a good balance. Weighing both the utter sense of love and fulfillment as well as trials involved in raising kids. Not to mention, the uncertainty, the doubts, concerns and overall moments of feeling either drowning in adoration, or overwhelmed by chaos. It truly does shift from hour to hour so I'll have to figure out how to embrace both aspects. Anyway, thanks for sharing. And hopefully this new blog will be intriguing enough to hold even your attention, you know, on those rare nights you can't sleep or something like that :)
Mrs. Habithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10433750570342329609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8159818817339386715.post-66280492050581502422014-02-24T21:10:58.336-08:002014-02-24T21:10:58.336-08:00This sounds exciting. Not that this is geared towards me, since I'm not a mom, but it seems like from my reading of mommy blogs that there's way too much perfection going around. I mean, that's just the blogosphere in general, but I imagine it's particularly crushing for women who are trying to juggle all the expectations that come with motherhood. And then, on the other end of the spectrum, there's this:
http://www.slate.com/articles/life/family/2014/02/what_s_it_really_like_to_be_a_parent_please_don_t_tell_me.html It's a pretty crazy dichotomy that the interwebs presents on motherhood

Anyway, glad to see you're well and that you still have energy for projects like this. Looking forward to it. One contributor I have on board is a newly single mom and I told her it was vital to have her voice there because there are so many other woman going through the same thing with nothing online that is solidly relatable. Everybody boast about their "perfect family" when in reality, that is not what a lot of people have. I was saying it must feel like there is nothing out there that celebrates or even acknowledges what it takes to do it on your own. But this new blog will have that. I hope it speaks to all kinds of moms and is easily relatable, entertaining, and fun. I think you'll like it!! xo
Mrs. Habithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10433750570342329609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8159818817339386715.post-83168963218098614772014-02-23T11:22:49.231-08:002014-02-23T11:22:49.231-08:00single parenting. where do I find other single &qu...single parenting. where do I find other single "normal" moms?! desperate in need of online therapy :)sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03373409331887397054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8159818817339386715.post-2383101744432936952014-02-22T09:30:19.866-08:002014-02-22T09:30:19.866-08:00I actually have a good friend who grew up here in ...I actually have a good friend who grew up here in californai - the quintessential "cali girl" who has now lived in London for the past 5 or 6 years and I asked her to write a post about what's it like to endure such a big move, taking into consideration such different humor, culture and weather. She struggles with the weather most I think. Anyway, I think that right there will be something you read and relate to so I'm excited to hear what you think. As for your cookbook, I think it's a great idea! Do it! I finally bought one in Target but it wasn't a kind I really looked for. When in Poland I buy some over there. I do like mommy blogs a lot even when they run to generalisations (I could do a post on the number of instagram pics I've seen of Donna Tart's the Goldfish next to a lovely latte!) - most of the blogs I follow are women who don't live in London like me thus I love the snapshot of their daily lives that is so different to mine in so many ways, yet also so familiar (kids! laundry! etc) - and of course I stick with the ones whose pics and words I like, who I find inspiring and uplifting like your lovely blog. I've started an online family recipe book that I want to give to my daughter when she's grown (after 2 years of not managing to ever write in the beautiful notebook I'd earmarked for the job) and I might do a lifestyley one more like pinterest, stuff I like, with more words! Not sure yet. On the observing your children - my friend's mum (a wonderful granny) said a great privilege of being a granny is you have the time to really observe the children in a way that is much harder as the mum (that and handing them back to mum!!). Love the pic of your bump and the pretty dress, Lili xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8159818817339386715.post-88661262724934601322014-02-21T07:54:10.266-08:002014-02-21T07:54:10.266-08:00I know, I was just remembering that too, that I ha...I know, I was just remembering that too, that I had a couple cute vintage slips back in high school and they were so easy to find at the thrift stores, and now, when I really truly need one I can't find one anywhere. Back in high school (when I wore them layered as dresses...ahem,) I could find racks of them at the thrift store. I love cotton jersey skirts in the summer, but don't feel right wearing them without a slip underneath. I have been able to find half slips at Walmart, which gives that extra bit of cover from hips to knees, right where it's needed.

Looking forward to hearing about your new endeavor...Cassiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17588052397864149916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8159818817339386715.post-54632557887953303462014-02-21T06:42:29.758-08:002014-02-21T06:42:29.758-08:00i love how you mention that you are trying harder ...i love how you mention that you are trying harder now a days to just watch your children. I seem to be on that same path. Its such a simple concept and truly makes my children so happy, but it can be really hard to just turn everything off and "watch" them. Being completely mindful and in the moment has to be a conscious effort. Sad, but true. Thanks

www.lemonheadpress.comAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01764767727274265933noreply@blogger.com
