The summer stretched out the daylight as if on a rack. Each moment was drawn out until its anatomy collapsed. Time broke down. The day progressed in an endless sequence of dead moments.”   ― China Miéville, Perdido Street Station

  1. I absolutely love this photo. I just found your blog a couple of months ago. I have never commented. I especially love the posts with what the boys say. They sound like they're soooo fun. We are midwesterners who dream of moving out west to CA. I'm waiting until I finish my teaching degree to really look into it. Are you all in Santa Monica? It looks perfect.

    1. Hi Morgan. Thanks for writing. And so happy to hear this space is helping keep you excited for the big move. It's hard not to fall in love with all of the constant sunshine but traffic is a nightmare. That, I don't mention much.

Anyway, we are not in Santa Monica but inland. I'm just around L.A a lot because of friends and work. It's a great place to spend a day. I think you'll like it there too :)

  2. Oh God I wish!!!! I am so fed up of summers in the UK with the relentless grey and rain. What I would do for some dry desert heat.... And an actual proper summer... Or an actual spring... We don't even get snow in winter ?!?!?! Great photo and as always your blog is like my Netflix into another little world/life with your fab pics, writing and family and way more surfing and sun than we ever see xx

    1. OH you are too kind Phillipa! I love that complement and would surely send you some summer sunshine if I could. I always say it takes a strong person to live in cold climate. I'm so lazy on the rare occasions that it does rain here. In that I literally get NOTHING done, or even dressed for that matter. So, I applaud you.

      xx
